In this video, I look at some of Atlus’s more underrated video games, both games they developed, and games they have localized for North America.
Most people immediately think of Persona 5 when they think of Atlus, but Atlus has a long history of video games outside of Persona and Megami Tensei, especially Atlus USA, who has published several obscure titles in the West. Thanks to them, we’ve gotten several great games that we probably wouldn’t have without them.

I’m still trying to figure out who the fuck just decided: “fuck it! Hentai fighting game.”
Aquapazza was so damn fun, but man the difference between the amazing characters and the okay characters was just too damn painful. I'd say the game's poor balance was what killed whatever niche following the game had. I mean there prolly are people playing this game and you just need to look for the right discord group, so there's that at least.
Don't say prices
Man… This takes me back
I loved ATLUS ever since I experienced Persona 4 years ago.
I blindly search for any game with "Shin Megami Tensei" in it in PS2 thus finding Nocturne, Devil Summoner and Digital Devil Saga in process.
Not satisfied enough, I blindly take any games with Atlus name in it thus finding Baroque, Dual Hearts, Odin Sphere and Eternal Poison
Baroque ftw.
Don't go crazy. Don't go crazy. Don't go crazy. Don't go crazy. Don't go crazy. Don't go crazy. Don't go crazy. Don't go crazy. Don't go crazy. Don't go crazy.
operation darkness: user score 7. Journalism: It is not from sony 2.

I honestly expected to hear "hola soy dora"
Aquapazza reminds me melty blood
Wasn't Magic Knight Ray Earth done by ATLUS?
Steambot Chronicles PS2.
Operation Darkness is like worse Valkyria Chronicles haha
What no conception games?
Thank you for reminding me about Aquapazza, gotta give it a try again
fuck yes i love baroque
2:00 Just play Valkyria Chronicals…
Atlus artwork is so good
Operation darkness is now over a hundred dollars
IDK man, I think I should check out less obscure ones like Persona 4, SMT Nocturne and… I guess SMT V whenever the hell that comes out. Also Digital Devil Saga, since I already have that one.
Baroque is my all time favourite game, the complexity and depth of the story in that game is insane, it seems to have been inspired by the kings field games so it has dark souls-esque story telling (But in my opinion even better)
That first game sounds like Valkyria Chronicles to me, chief…
I saw the art of Maken x and now I really want to have it!
I remember having a lot of fun with Operation Darkness way back when, especially being a huge sucker for Strategy games
It certainly hasn't aged well
And working in what I do now (Writing + editing) , the writing makes me cringe
But even so, I'll probably still enjoy it, flat and corny writing and all
Because nostalgia is a thing

1990's: Im 16 years old.
2000+: I'm 34 years old so depicting me in violent or sexual scenes doesn't violate your national laws.
Operation Darkness just looks like Xcom but with Rpg Mechanics
Never heard of aquaplus but melty blood was probably the first fighting game to be based off of a"adult visual novel"
Operation Darkness looks almost exactly like Valkyria Chronicles
Operation Darkness reminds me of Valkyria Chronicles
i wish i've found u earlier!! u are amazing!
Aquaplaza? Download yes?
OD reminds me of valkyria chronicles
"its rare to see world war II stories on the western front in japanese media"
gee i wonder why that could be
Beginning music?
Whoa a video with operation darkness very cool
Europe (and by extension, us in the UK) still get the short end of the stick when it comes to Japanese localisation. Nice to know nothing's changed over here after 10 years of begging and pleading for Atlus to get ANY of their games over here. Americans like to pretend Europe is a treasure trove of games they never got, but we have it much, much worse.
SEGA still haven't given us Seaman, EGG or Phantasy Star Online 2. We never got the chance to play Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, Devil Summoner 2, or even Strange Journey for a while. Monolith Soft's other Xeno games, like Xenogears and Xenosaga, never made it to the UK, and even if you make an American account to buy some of these, Xenosaga is still completely inaccessible to us. And don't get me started on Nintendo's neglegence with Baten Kaitos Origins, Custom Robo: Battle Revolution, Excite Bots etc.
That censored hentai sound clip you use is really fucking annoying.
In the wii version, the game is in 3rd person
