The game theoretical version of the social dilemma is called the public goods game. Public goods games are usually employed to model the behavior of groups of individuals achieving a common goal. The public goods game has the same properties as the prisoner’s dilemma game, but describes a public good or a resource from which all may benefit regardless of whether or not they contributed to the good.

  • Thank you! On the edge of my seat waiting for next vid, wondering what complexity might offer to help us mitigate the inexorable quicksand of sliding reinforcers pulling us toward the Social Trap. If all these videos were required learning in all high schools everywhere, I think the world world be a better place. No joke. People could better understand what it is to be human, to live in corporate- or social-oriented nation states, to be part of economies, to contribute to social networks, etc.
